Grand Ledge Schools

District-wide Industrial Hygiene Services
Grand Ledge, Michigan

TEC has provided industrial hygiene and environmental consulting services to Grand Ledge Public Schools since 1988. This relationship began with TEC being awarded the original contract for conducting asbestos inspections and development of management plans under the new federal AHERA program. The range of services provided to Grand Ledge Public Schools in the ensuing 27 years has steadily increased.

The most frequently requested services entail conducting pre-renovation/demolition asbestos and lead based paint surveys to support the numerous bond issue projects that have been undertaken over the past quarter century. TEC has participated with the district’s architects and construction managers to develop project goals, budgets, timelines and bidding specifications as well as having conducted contractor oversight during abatement activities.

Over the years TEC has performed numerous indoor air quality investigations to address occupant concerns. A number of these have involved water damage and mold assessments after flooding events. TEC conducts annual building air quality audits as part of a union/management collective bargaining agreement.

Recent activities have involved development of the district’s Stormwater Management and Hazard Communication programs, as well as UST Operator Services (Class A & B UST Operators and Class C UST Operator Training).
