Former Packard Plant Renovation

Detroit, Michigan

The Packard Plant is a neglected, 3,500,000 square foot, former prestigious auto plant located in Detroit. Two years ago with the hope of rebuilding the City, Fernando Palazuelo purchased the former plant with plans to renovate/rebuild one building at a time over the course of the 10 -15 years and turn the property into a multi-use utopia that will bring more people/businesses back to the City especially the auto suppliers. Some of his ideas include a world-class go-kart track, live-work space for artists.

TEC is providing all of the front line environmental assessments, including hazardous materials surveys for asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs and other bio-hazards, as well as recommendations for abatement and project oversight for this 40-acre Brownfield site.
