DMC Blumberg Building Demolition
The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) hired TEC to provide a Hazardous Materials Survey (HMS) and Asbestos-Containing Building Material (ACBM) Survey of the Detroit Medical Center Sinai Blumberg Health Center (a 78,109 square-foot four-story structure with full basement) in preparation of anticipated demolition of the Site building. Abatement of asbestos and hazardous materials identified by TEC was performed by National Environmental Group. Upon TEC’s satisfaction that all relevant materials had been removed, demolition of the Site building was initiated and continued through May 2010.
TEC had oversight responsibilities during all phases of the site work and performed periodic Site inspections to observe and photo document the progress and discuss and evaluate potential issues with contractor personnel.
